Understood.org attends Job Path’s 2024 Spring Benefit: A Night of Belonging
On March 26, Job Path hosted its annual Spring Benefit to celebrate its 45th anniversary. Job Path supports people with developmental disabilities as they explore what they want out of life and chart their own journeys. Understood, the 2023 recipient of Job Path’s Employer of the Year Award, was invited to speak about our ongoing partnership. And together, we honored the law firm Paul, Weiss, Job Path’s 2024 Employer of the Year.
Deb Wilson, chief people and culture officer at Understood.org, spoke about the value of our partnership with Job Path. Over the past decade, Understood has proudly employed two Job Path participants with learning and thinking differences. Both Wilson and Paul, Weiss representatives highlighted the contributions Job Path participants have made to our organizations.
“Today, Job Path programs continue to serve as beacons of hope and opportunity for neurodivergent individuals seeking employment, independence, and community. I am proud to stand alongside Job Path in their mission as a champion of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging,” said Deb Wilson.
Carly Teichman, chief executive officer at Job Path, said, “As we celebrate this 45th anniversary, we’re not only reflecting on our past achievements; we’re also charting a path for the future. Despite any forthcoming challenges, we’re committed to innovating and adapting our initiatives, ensuring that we continue meeting the evolving needs of our participants and their families alongside hundreds of our valued employment partners like Understood.org and Paul, Weiss.”
The evening reaffirmed our commitment to shaping the world for difference. Through collaborations with Job Path and other community partners, we’re working to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to belong, contribute, and thrive.
